Free SIM cards are now available in Deutsche Telekom shops for refugees from Ukraine. One card is issued per refugee. A valid Ukrainian identity document must be presented for identification purposes. The reason: In Germany, SIM cards may only be provided on a personalized basis due to legal regulations.
Phone calls and SMS are free of charge within the EU and to Ukraine. Data use is unlimited and also free of charge. The cards are activated until 30 June 2022.
In Jena, the cards are issued in the Telekom Shops in Goethe Galerie (immediate activation) and Burgau-Park (activation within 24 h).
